Answers to questions received from the web:
Why did you write "Hope after heartache"?
I wrote "Hope after heartache" ( the CD) as a response to the emotions I have experienced since 1999. Without question, the
period between then and now has been the best and worst of times for
me. I can truly say " there is hope after heartache - and
that's where love begins" to anyone who is in pain from a betrayal
-
or the loss of a friend or loved one.
As for me, I have married the most wonderful woman , who is
absolutely supportive of my music creation and publishing. She
has encouraged me to "take a chance and put my music out there" for
the music buying world to hear and appreciate.
Are you working on another CD?
Yes. I have a song list and theme already in place for
publishing "Mediterranean
Man", which will be available in 2007 through Blue Glass
Music. "Mediterranean Man" is a Latin themed
collection that reflects my Latin heritage. I hope to
have
Mark Ceccarelli again take a strong voice in my
horn section, and I may have a few other surprises that came from
the time Donna and I spent in Italy in last summer.
What other music projects are you working on?
I
am also working on "Jazzman's
tea". This is a very different project (for me) and is
poised to be in the "cool jazz" genre. I am really
bewildered at the sorry state of adult music in the USA. There
is so much terrific music and talent that goes
unheard and un-purchased.
Who
else contributed to you creating your music?
Well, I have a list of people who have influenced my thinking
musically and spiritually.
I think recently though , I would have to thank
Greg Adams (Ripa Records) whose ability to score music, and
re-invent his own sound (which is, and has been )
nothing short of spectacular and personally inspiring.
Listen
and buy his newest CD
"
Cool to the touch".
WOW!
To my ear, he may be the best musician and certainly one of the most
accessible artists on the planet today.
How do you write and play all the music on your recordings?
Slowly! Apparently... I have a profound appreciation for the
essence and resonance of each instrument I employ in a score.
I make no bones about it... I am a keyboard player, and a
digital composer.
My music is a reflection of the technology I employ to paint the picture I want to portray on your
speakers.
How would you characterize your music?
Well I wouldn't. But if I understand your question; I would
say with certainty my music falls in the folk/rock/jazz
/funk/country/classical/gospel category. (Is that a category?)
I like certain elements of all genre's. I write to the portions of
the genre's I enjoy most,
for instance: "No
ordinary life" has a classical "Rossini" finale. Molto
Italiano....
"Moonlight
on a summer's night" is pure American country.
"Bring your
children" is gospel through and through. "Mediterranean
Man" will have a strong rhythmic Latin influence in it's
heartbeat.
What do I do for fun?
Music is fun for me! I also am a professional writer, and I am
involved in the navigation and communication electronics
industry (psicompany.com).
One of my other passions is the cable and satellite broadcasting
industry. Recently, Donna and I started a new broadcasting network
called "MarineChannel"
which is designed to be a "24/7" broadcast channel dedicated
to the interests of persons who have broad marine interests and predilections.
Look for music to be a fundamental component of the
make-up of this network, especially how we handle travel and the
relationship it employs with music.
